In Depth

What each product actually means.

RHBI Motor Saver

Odometer-based. No installation.

The only mileage plan in this comparison that uses odometer readings — verified at annual renewal, not tracked continuously. No device to install, no app to run. Rebate applied at renewal: if your odometer reads below your plan limit, the rebate percentage is deducted from your premium.

Brand X

Odometer photo via POI2U app.

Brand X uses the POI2U app to submit odometer photos. You photograph your odometer via the app, and the insurer verifies your mileage from the image. No hardware device is required, but the app must be used at each submission — adding a dependency on the POI2U platform that the renewal-only approach avoids.

Brand Y

Odometer photo via app — three times per year.

Brand Y requires odometer photo submissions through its app three times per year. Your mileage is calculated from those periodic snapshots rather than tracked continuously. No hardware device is required, but the app-based submission schedule introduces three annual touchpoints that the renewal-only approach eliminates.

Brand Z

Brand Z Tag telematics device required.

Brand Z uses a Brand Z Tag telematics device to track your mileage. The device is installed in your vehicle and transmits usage data to the insurer continuously. A separate enrolment process applies — the device must remain installed throughout the policy period, adding hardware dependency that the odometer-based approach avoids entirely.

0

devices required

Every other mileage product in this comparison requires a hardware device, a dedicated app, or both. RHBI Motor Saver requires neither — no device to install, no app to maintain. Your odometer is read once at annual renewal, the same moment your workshop already checks it. That is the differentiator: zero ongoing obligations between purchase and renewal.
